Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

If a NEW  Security Gateway Module (SGW) is being installed, use the diagnostic scan tool to flash the module. Failure to flash the module will leave the SGW module in a locked mode preventing SGW module operation.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Remove retaining fastener (1) and remove right side floor air duct (2).

  4. Remove the three (SGW) retainer clips (3) and disconnect the wire harness connectors (2).
  5. Remove the (SGW) (1) from the instrument panel carrier bracket (4), which is secured to the instrument panel carrier bulkhead.
