Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel fill housing. Refer to HOUSING, FUEL FILL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Remove the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) cap.

4. Remove the screws (1a) securing the DEF filler tube (1b).
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

6. Remove the DEF filler tube retaining nut (1a).
7. Disconnect the DEF fill tube quick connect connectors (1b, 1c).
8. Remove the DEF filler tube from the vehicle.

9. If necessary, remove the nuts (1a, 1b) and remove the filler tube mounting bracket (1c).

INSTALLATION 

1. If removed, install the filler tube mounting bracket and securely tighten the nuts.
2. Position the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) filler tube into the fuel filler housing.
3. Connect the DEF fill tube quick connect connectors.
4. Install the DEF filler tube and tighten the nut securely.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
6. Install the filler tube screws and tighten securely.
7. Install the fuel fill housing. Refer to HOUSING, FUEL FILL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
8. Install the DEF cap.
9. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
