Module, Memory, Seat (MSM): Removal

NOTE:

The scan tool standardization process must be performed on the Memory Seat Module (MSM) any time a new MSM is installed or the existing MSM is re-flashed.

NOTE:

Depending on how equipped, there may be more memory seat module wire harness connectors present than shown in the illustration.

  1. Position the driver seat in the full forward and full up position.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable. Wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before continuing service.
  3. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (3) from the Memory Seat Module (MSM).
  4. Using a suitable tool, disengage the two rear MSM bracket retaining tabs (4) from each side of the bracket while carefully pushing the rear of the MSM upward to align the MSM guides (5) with the removal slots in the bracket.
  5. Pull the MSM rearward to disengage the two front MSM locating tabs (2) from the bracket (1).
  6. Remove the MSM from underneath the driver seat.
