Filter, Diesel Particulate: Removal

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

Disconnect the differential pressure hoses (4) from the tubing.
Remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to PIPE, EXHAUST, REMOVAL .

NOTE:
Manual trans shown, automatic transmission similar.
On manual transmission models, remove nuts (5) and the steady rest mount (4).

Remove the nuts (2) and the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) assembly (3).
