Diagnostic Test

  1. INTERMITTENT CONDITION OR POOR CONNECTION TEST 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, generate and record the Vehicle Scan Report.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs from Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM).
    4. Turn the ignition off.
    5. Wait 10 seconds.
    6. Turn the ignition on.
    7. Operate the vehicle in the conditions that set this DTC.
    8. With the scan tool, read the Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go to  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using "appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS" articles as a guide, check all the related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and the correct pin tension. If no problem is found, the test is complete. Perform the TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
  2. CHECK RADIO FREQUENCY HUB MODULE (RFHM) HARNESS CONNECTIONS 
    1. Disconnect all harness connectors of the Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) harness.
    2. Disconnect all related in-line harness connectors (if equipped).
    3. Disconnect all related systems harness connectors.
    4. Check the harness and components connectors and the male female terminals for the following conditions
      • Proper connector installations.
      • Apparently damaged connectors locks.
      • Corrosion.
      • Water contact signs.
      • If the weatherproof protection is damaged (If equipped).
      • Bent terminals.
      • Overheating due to poor connection (terminal should be colorless due to overheat).
      • Terminals that have been damaged due to being pushed.
      • Perform a terminal drag test on each terminal to verify proper terminal tension.
    5. Repair any damage found on step  4.
    6. Reconnect all Radio Frequency Hub Module (RFHM) harness connectors. Make sure all the connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
    7. Reconnect all the in-line harness connectors (if equipped). Make sure all the connectors are fully seated and the connector locks are fully engaged.
    8. Reconnect all the harness related connectors. Make sure the connectors are fully seated.
    9. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    10. Operate the vehicle in the conditions that set this DTC.
    11. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      No 

      • TEST COMPLETE.
