2.0L Diesel: Installation

  1. Position the starter (2a) and spacer (1a) for installation, then install the upper and lower screws (2b).
  2. Position the wire harness support bracket (3b) and install the starter screw (3a).
  3. Tighten the three screws to the proper specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Position the electrical connection (5a) to the starter, then install and securely tighten the nut.
  5. Position the electrical connections from the battery (6a) and generator (6b), then install and securely tighten the nut (6c).
  6. Close the B+ electrical connection cover (7a) for the starter.

  7. Position the injection control unit and bracket (1a), then install and securely tighten the nuts (1b) and screws (1c).
  8. Position the wire harness (2a) to the injection control unit bracket (1a) and engage the retaining straps (2b).
  9. Connect the PTU power cord wire harness connector (3a), and then engage it to its support.
  10. Position the (4a) ground wire, then install and securely tighten the nut.

  11. Position the particulate filter pressure sensor (1a) and bracket, then install and securely tighten the nuts (1b).
  12. Position the wire harness and engage the retaining clip (2a).
  13. Connect the injection control unit (3c) wire harness connectors (3a and 3b).
  14. Position the glow plug control unit, then install and securely tighten the nut.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
