Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- Record the Environmental Data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the TESTING FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITIONS procedure. Refer to TESTING FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE (F944) RUN/START RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Rear View Camera Module (RVCM) harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the (F944) Run/Start Relay Output circuit at the RVCM harness connector.
Is the voltage below 9.0 volts?
Yes
- Repair the open or short to ground in the (F944) Run/Start Relay Output circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (Z930) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z930) Ground circuit at the RVCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (Z930) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (D402) LIN BUS 2 CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect the BCM C8/H harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (D402) LIN Bus 2 circuit between the RVCM harness connector and PIN 44 in the BCM C8/H harness connector.
Is the resistance above 3.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the open in the (D402) LIN Bus 2 circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Rear View Camera Module (RVCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to CAMERA, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
