Lower Intermediate Shaft

  1. Install the intermediate shaft to the vehicle.
  2. Install the lower intermediate shaft (3) to the upper intermediate shaft (1).
  3. Install a NEW  upper pinch bolt (2) and tighten the bolt to 49 N.m (36 ft. lbs.).

  4. Install the coupler (1) at the steering gear (2).
  5. Install a NEW  lower coupler pinch bolt at the steering gear and tighten the bolt to 49 N.m (36 ft. lbs.).
  6. Unlock the steering wheel.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
