Upper Intermediate Shaft

  1. Install the intermediate shaft (4) to studs at the cowl.
  2. Install the two mounting nuts (1) and tighten to 13 N.m (115 in. lbs).
  3. Install the lower intermediate shaft coupler (3) to the upper intermediate shaft (4).
  4. Install a NEW  pinch bolt (2) and tighten to 49 N.m (36 ft. lbs.).

  5. Install the upper shaft coupler (2) to the steering column (4).
  6. Install a NEW  and tighten the pinch bolt (1) to 49 N.m (36 ft. lbs.).
  7. Unlock the steering wheel.
  8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
