Section 254 (Engine Cooling System): Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.6L

CAUTION:
The Thermostat and housing is serviced as an assembly. Do not remove the thermostat from the housing, damage to the thermostat may occur.
- Clean the mating areas of the coolant crossover and thermostat housing (1).
- Install a NEW
seal on to the thermostat housing.
- Install the thermostat housing (1) on the coolant crossover and tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Install upper radiator hose (2) onto the thermostat housing (1).
- Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the air intake resonator assembly. Refer to RESONATOR, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
- Connect negative battery cable to battery.
- Start and warm the engine and check for leaks.
