3.0L Diesel
- Clean all O-ring sealing surfaces.
- Install a NEW
O-ring seal (1) onto engine coolant tube (2).
- Install a NEW
O-ring seals (1) onto water pump housing (2).
- Install a NEW O-ring seal (3) onto coolant inlet tube (5).
- Install the coolant inlet tube (5). Tighten the bolts (4) to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.).
- Install the water pump. Tighten the bolts (1) to:
- 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
- Loosen the bolts one at a time 90° and then tighten to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).
- Install NEW
O-ring seals (1) onto coolant tube (2).
- Install the coolant tube (2). Tighten the bolts (1) to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).
- Install the fuel supply line from the fuel injection pump to fuel rail. Refer to TUBE(S), FUEL, INSTALLATION
.
- Install the belt tensioner bracket (1) and tighten the bolts (2, 3) to:
- M6 bolt to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.).
- M10 bolts to 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
- Install the belt tensioner. Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, INSTALLATION .
- Install the lower radiator hose (1) onto the water pump housing.
- Install the thermostat housing. Refer to THERMOSTAT, INSTALLATION .
- Install the coolant hose (2) onto the water pump housing.
- Install the coolant temperature sensor. Refer to SENSOR, COOLANT TEMPERATURE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER .
- Evacuate air and refill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect negative battery cable.
- Start the engine and check cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Install the engine cover (1).
