OVERVIEW

This bulletin involves re-configuring the vehicle to allow the SiriusXM radio features to become operable.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA (U.S. Only).

NOTE: This bulletin applies to the following vehicles equipped with SiriusXM Satellite Radio (Sales Code RSD) or SiriusXM Travel Link (Sales Code RSM) or SiriusXM Traffic (Sales Code RSS):

For DS vehicles built on or after September 16, 2017 (MDH 0916XX) and on or before September 24, 2017 (MDH 0924XX).
For LA vehicles built on or after August 01, 2017 (MDH 0801XX) and on or before September 14, 2017 (MDH 0914XX).
For LD vehicles built on or after August 23, 2017 (MDH 0823XX) and on or before September 17, 2017 (MDH 0917XX).
For LX vehicles built on or after August 08, 2017 (MDH 0808XX) and on or before August 25, 2017 (MDH 0825XX).
For MP vehicles built on or after February 15, 2017 (MDH 0215XX) and on or before February 17, 2017 (MDH 0217XX).
For RU vehicles built on September 23, 2017 (MDH 0923XX).
For WD vehicles built on or after August 28, 2017 (MDH 0828XX) and on or before September 09, 2017 (MDH 0909XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION

The vehicles Sirius Satellite Radio, Traffic and Travel Link are inoperable, as these vehicles have been diverted from Puerto Rico to the U.S. Mainland due to country code configuration. Vehicle shipped to Puerto Rico do not have SiriusXM satellite radio features configured by production intent.

DIAGNOSIS

Using a scan tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are set. If DTCs are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

Perform the repair only if the customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

NOTE: Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the repair procedure.

**Is the vehicle an MP?
- YES>>> Proceed to Step 3.
- NO>>> Proceed to Step 2 .
Using wiTECH 2, perform "restore vehicle configuration" under Body Control Module (BCM), Guided Diagnostics. Proceed to Step 5.
Using wiTECH, restore configuration and align proxy. These routines are available under the "Diagnostic Procedures" tab found on the home, "Vehicle View", page of wiTECH.
NOTE: Obtain a vehicle Personal Identification Number (PIN) through the normal dealership process before configuring.
Enter PIN number.
NOTE: If odometer is blinking, perform "Proxi Configuration Alignment" located on the sidebar of the wiTECH 2 vehicle view screen, under Guided Diagnostics > Vehicle Preparations**
Using wiTECH 2 clear any DTCs which may have been set during the reconfiguration.
Tune radio to SiriusXM channel 0, get SiriusXM ID.
Go to Sirius website (https://care.siriusxm.com/retailrefresh_view.action?intcmp=GN_FOOTER_NEW-Otherhelpfullinks_RefreshMyRadio#/ Refreshradio) and follow instructions to refresh the radio (Fig. 1) .
Wait five minutes and then verify Sirius Traffic and Travel Link feature functions correctly by selecting one of the icons within Travel Link, for example fuel prices and verifying that data is present.
Select the subscription icon and verify that all of the subscriptions are subscribed.

FAILURE CODE

The dealer must choose which failure code to use depending on if this is a Rapid Response Transmittal (RRT) or Service Bulletin.

If the customer's concern matches the SYMPTOM/CONDITION identified in the Service Bulletin, failure code CC is to be used. When utilizing this failure code, the 3C's must be supplied.
The failure code "RF" (Required Flash) can no longer be used on Service Bulletin flashes. The "RF" failure code can only be used on RRT.
The "RF" failure code is required for essential module flash/reprogramming and can only be used after confirmation that the VIN is included on the RRT.
