2.2L Diesel

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service information article .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  5. Remove the clip and the Engine Cooling Temperature (ECT) sensor (1) from the thermostat housing.

  6. Disconnect the (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
