Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation: Diesel
NOTE:
Care must be taken not to damage the radiator cooling fins and tubes during installation.
- Install the cooling fan onto radiator. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the radiator fan/shroud assembly.
- Install the left and right mounting isolators. Tighten the bolts to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the wire harness and install the pushpin retainers to secure wire harness.
- Install the two remaining lower radiator fan shroud fasteners to radiator. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the left side upper radiator hose (1).
- Connect the right side lower radiator hose (3) and lock clip (2).
- Install the washer reservoir. Refer to RESERVOIR, WINDSHIELD WASHER, INSTALLATION .
- Install the right side radiator air deflector.
- Install the left side radiator air deflector.
- Connect the ambient air temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Install the hood release cable from the air deflector.
- Connect the horn wire harness connector.
- Connect the cooling fan module wire harness connector (1).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the A/C condenser. Refer to CONDENSER, A/C, INSTALLATION .
- Install the Charge Air Cooler (CAC). Refer to.
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Install the upper close out panel cover (1) and fasteners (2, 3, 4).
- Fill the cooling system with appropriate coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
- Install the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service information article .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
- Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system for correct fluid level.
