Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation: Diesel

NOTE:

Care must be taken not to damage the radiator cooling fins and tubes during installation.

  1. Install the cooling fan onto radiator. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install the radiator fan/shroud assembly.
  3. Install the left and right mounting isolators. Tighten the bolts to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Position the wire harness and install the pushpin retainers to secure wire harness.
  5. Install the two remaining lower radiator fan shroud fasteners to radiator. Tighten the fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  6. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the left side upper radiator hose (1).

  8. Connect the right side lower radiator hose (3) and lock clip (2).
  9. Install the washer reservoir. Refer to RESERVOIR, WINDSHIELD WASHER, INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the right side radiator air deflector.
  11. Install the left side radiator air deflector.

  12. Connect the ambient air temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
  13. Install the hood release cable from the air deflector.
  14. Connect the horn wire harness connector.

  15. Connect the cooling fan module wire harness connector (1).
  16. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  17. Install the A/C condenser. Refer to CONDENSER, A/C, INSTALLATION .
  18. Install the Charge Air Cooler (CAC). Refer to.
  19. Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
  20. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  21. Install the upper close out panel cover (1) and fasteners (2, 3, 4).
  22. Fill the cooling system with appropriate coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  23. Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  24. Install the engine cover. Refer to the appropriate service information article .
  25. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
  26. Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system for correct fluid level.
