Reservoir, Windshield Washer: Installation: Installation

NOTE:
The following procedure applies only to vehicles equipped with an optional diesel engine. The washer reservoir for models equipped with a gasoline engine is integral to the engine coolant reserve bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, COOLANT RECOVERY, INSTALLATION .
- Position the washer reservoir (1) and auxiliary relay box (2) as a unit over the radiator fan shroud in the engine compartment.
- Install and tighten the three screws (5) that secure the upper mounting provisions of the washer reservoir to the upper radiator crossmember. Tighten the screws securely.
- Install and tighten the two screws that secure the right and left lower mounting provisions of the washer reservoir to the Front End Module (FEM) carrier. Tighten the screws securely.
- Reconnect the front and rear washer supply hoses to the reversible washer pump/motor unit (4) on the left end of the reservoir.
- Reconnect the FEM wire harness connector to the reversible washer pump/motor unit.
- Reconnect the auxiliary relay box jumper harness connector on the back of the reservoir to the engine compartment wiring connector located near the base of the battery tray.
- Reinstall the terminal of the power feed cable for the auxiliary relay box to the stud on the positive battery cable terminal clamp and secure it with a nut (3). Tighten the nut securely.
- Reinstall the battery. Refer to BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
- Reinstall the air filter housing.
- Refill the washer reservoir with the washer fluid drained from the reservoir during the removal procedure.
- Reconnect the battery negative cable.
