Radiator, Engine Cooling: Removal: 3.2L
- Remove the engine cover.
- Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system (Refer to PLUMBING, STANDARD PROCEDURE ) .
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the belly pan (Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL ) .
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
- Remove the push pins (1) that secure the side close out deflector from the lower deflector (2).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Remove the fasteners (2, 3, 4) and the upper radiator close out panel cover (1).
- Remove the hood latch (Refer to LATCH, HOOD .
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the cooling fan module (2).
- Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (4).
- Disconnect the horn wire harness connectors (6).
- Remove the hood release cable (3) from the air deflector.
- Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor wire harness connector (5).
- Remove the wiring harness (7) from the air deflector.
- Remove the fasteners and the upper radiator close out panel (1).
- Remove the right and left side air deflectors (2).
- Remove the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
- Remove the transmission cooler line support bracket bolt (1).
- Disconnect the A/C pressure switch wire harness connector (3).
- Remove the bolt (2) securing the A/C fill port support bracket (1) and position aside.
- Remove nut and the A/C discharge (3) and liquid line (1) manifold from the condenser jumper line (2).
- Detach the liquid line from manifold. Remove and discard the washer seals.
- Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the condenser and suction line ports.
- Remove the fastener (2) securing the condenser to the radiator and separate the condenser (1) from the radiator
- Remove the bolts and the right and left upper radiator mounts (1).
- With the help of an assistant, remove the radiator and fan assembly from the vehicle.
- If necessary, remove the fasteners (1) and separate radiator fan assembly from the radiator.
