Theory Of Operation

The purpose of the diagnostic is to monitor the positive engine torque request calculation in the TCM and the engine response resulting from the positive engine torque request. This diagnostic includes the following checks:

• Rationality check of the engine torque request
• Rationality check of the engine torque request magnitude
• Rationality check of speed gradients during gearshifts
