Pump, Water: Removal: 2.4L

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  2. Remove the right front tire.
  3. Remove the belly pan
  4. Remove the front closeout panel.
  5. Drain the coolant.

  6. Remove the 3 fender screws and the 3 push pins from the forward portion of the right front wheel liner. This will allow the liner to be positioned rearward to gain access to the accessory drive components.
  7. Remove the serpentine belt.

  8. Remove the 3 water pump pulley bolts (1).
  9. Remove the water pump pulley (2).
  10. Remove the water pump bolts (3).
  11. Remove the water pump (4) and the water pump gasket (8).
  12. Inspect the water pump housing (6) for impeller contact.
  13. Clean the mating surface.
  14. Remove the water pump.
