Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC WARNING:
Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
WARNING:Do not place an intact non-deployed airbag face down on a hard surface, the airbag propels into the air if accidentally deployed. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- (V937) S/C SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Steering Wheel Jumper harness connector from the Right Steering Wheel Switch.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- Measure the voltage between the (V937) S/C Switch Ground circuit and the (V71/V37) S/C Signal 1 circuit in the Steering Wheel Jumper harness connector.
Is the voltage between 4.5 and 5.2 Volts DC?
Yes
NOTE:Visually and physically inspect the wiring harness between the Right Steering Wheel Switch harness connector and the SCCM harness connector. Repair any damaged wires, connectors, and open/spread terminals. If harness is OK, proceed with test.
- Replace the Right Steering Wheel Switch in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SWITCH, SPEED CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
