Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Dodge Journey. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The pedestrian protection impact sensors perform their own self test using power supplied by the Electronic Pedestrian Protection module (EPPM) then communicate this status back to the EPPM with periodic updates. The repair of this fault condition involves verifying the integrity of the wiring between the EPPM and the sensor. For EPPM Description information. Refer to MODULE, ELECTRONIC PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION, DESCRIPTION . For EPPM Operation information. Refer to MODULE, ELECTRONIC PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION, OPERATION .
