Diagnostic Test

- REMOTE START ANTENNA NOT CONNECTED
- Verify that the Remote Start Antenna is connected to the WIN.
- Disconnect the Remote Start Antenna and reconnect it to make sure that it is seated correctly.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the WCM DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on, wait five seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the active WCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1A79- REMOTE START ANTENNA CIRCUIT OPEN OR NOT CONNECTED as Active?
Yes
- Go To 2.
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK REMOTE START ANTENNA
- Turn the ignition off.
- Secure a new Remote Start Antenna and connect the connector to the WCM.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the WCM DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on.
- With the scan tool, read the active WCM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1A79- REMOTE START ANTENNA CIRCUIT OPEN OR NOT CONNECTED as Active?
Yes
- Replace the Wireless Control Module (WCM/SKREEM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER (SKREEM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the WCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Finish the installation of the Remote Start Antenna in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to ANTENNA, REMOTE START, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
