The Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (sometimes referred to as the Power Top Control Module) is located at the rear of the vehicle roof next to the Full Open Retractable Roof (FORR) motors. The ECU is mounted to the FORR frame assembly with two screws. Three wire harness connectors are used to supply inputs to the ECU and send outputs to the FORR motors.
The ECU communicates via the Controller Area Network (CAN) data bus circuit and can be diagnosed and receive software updates with the use of a diagnostic scan tool.
