Steering System: Pump: Installation: 3.6L

  1. Position the power steering pump, install the pump mounting bolts (1) and tighten to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).

  2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolt (6) and tighten to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
  3. Install the pressure hose (5) to the power steering pump and tighten to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
  4. Install the supply hose and clamp (3) to the power steering pump.
  5. Position the A/C compressor and install the lower bolt (1) and the stud (4). Tighten the bolt to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
  6. Position the line with the routing clip on the stud (4), install the nut and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
  7. Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT, INSTALLATION .

  8. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the two A/C compressor upper retainer bolts (1) and tighten to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
  11. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  12. Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
