Front Axle Disconnect

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    NOTE:

    The intermediate shaft is serviced only as a complete assembly.

  2. Remove left halfshaft assembly (2). Refer to REMOVAL or REMOVAL .

  3. Disconnect the front axle disconnect solenoid harness connector (1).

  4. Remove the 3 bolts (5), (6), (7) from the front axle disconnect solenoid, and remove the front axle disconnect solenoid (8).

  5. Remove the 3 bolts (1), (2), (3) from the front axle disconnect bracket, and remove the front axle disconnect bracket (4).

  6. Remove four bolts (1) from the front axle disconnect (3) and remove it from the engine
