Section 530 (Steering System): Pump: Installation: Police

- If Electro Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS) front bracket (2) has been removed, install the bracket to the vehicle and tighten fasteners to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install EHPS pump (1) into vehicle and install EHPS front bracket to pump nut (4) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install EHPS rear bracket (1) to frame bolts (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
NOTE:
Always use a new O-ring on the end of the pressure line.
- Lubricate the new O-ring on the end of the pressure line with clean power steering fluid.
- Install power steering pressure line to EHPS Pump (3).
- Install the EHPS pressure line to pump bolt (2) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install EHPS pump electrical connectors (1).
- Fill and bleed power steering system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install right front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
