Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    NOTE:

    All FOBIKs used with this vehicle should be present during this test.

    1. With one of the owners good FOBIKs, turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
    3. Operate the alleged inoperative FOBIK in all positions several times.
    4. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2.

      No 

      • The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. The FOBIK may have already been re-syncronized by being in the vehicle while it was being driven. Inform the owner of the most probable cause for this code to set and therefore causing the FOBIK to be inoperative.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE 
    1. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    2. Turn the ignition off.
    3. Put the inoperative FOBIK in the vehicle.
    4. With the good FOBIK, start and drive the vehicle above five miles per hour for one mile.
    5. Turn the ignition off.
    6. Operate the inoperative FOBIK in all positions several times.
    7. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Replace the FOBIK and program using the scan tool.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
