Section 110 (Charging System (Service Information)): Generator: Installation: 3.0L

  1. Position the generator (4) to the engine and install the upper generator bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs).
  2. Install the B+ cable (6) to the generator. Tighten nut (2) to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).
  3. Install the protective cover (1) from the B+ cable (6).
  4. Connect the field generator wire harness connector (3).

  5. Install the lower generator stud (3) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.).
  6. Install the ground cable (1) to the generator. Tighten nut (2) to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs).
  7. Install the lower generator bolt (4) and tighten to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs).
  8. Install the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .

  9. Position the lower splash shield (2) and install the three push pins (1).
  10. Install the right front wheel and tire assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .

  11. Install the engine cover (1).
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
