Section 419 (Starting System (Service Information)): Starter: Installation: 3.6L

Fig 1: Starter Solenoid Electrical Connector, Solenoid Stud, Starter Mounting Bolts & Starter Assembly
- Position the starter (3) inside the transmission.
- Install the starter mounting bolts (4) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the starter solenoid electrical connector (1) to starter solenoid terminal.
- Install the battery cable and nut to the solenoid stud (2). Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the starter solenoid heat shield. Tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the steering gear lower intermediate shaft (1). Refer to SHAFT, INTERMEDIATE, LOWER, INSTALLATION .
- Remove the steering wheel holder.
- Connect the negative battery cable and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
