Diagnostic Test

- PERFORM TCM INITIALIZE EGS ROUTINE
- With the scan tool, perform the TCM Initialize EGS routine.
- With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- PERFORM TCM REPROGRAMMING PROCEDURE NOTE:
Controller is programmed with generic software and will not allow the correct vehicle Powertrain management.
- Perform the TCM Programming procedure in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING

Were you able to update the controller successfully?
Yes
- Perform NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Transmission Control Module (TCM) terminals for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the TCM per the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, DESCRIPTION .
- Perform NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to NAG1 TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Perform the TCM Programming procedure in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING
