Pipe, Exhaust: Installation: Installation

- Position the exhaust pipe (2) into the vehicle.
- Insert the exhaust pipe hanger into the transmission support.
- Install the exhaust pipe to the catalytic converter flange retaining nuts (1). Do not tighten nuts.
- Install the exhaust pipe to the muffler mounting bolts. Do not tighten bolts.
- Make sure the exhaust pipe/exhaust system is aligned and has the proper clearance. The minimum clearance is 25mm (1 inch). Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
- Tighten the exhaust pipe to catalytic converter flange retaining nuts (1) to 27 N.m (19 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the exhaust pipe to muffler mounting bolts to 31 N.m (23 ft. lbs.).
- Install the oxygen sensors in the exhaust pipe and catalytic converter and connect oxygen sensor connectors.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Start the engine and inspect for leaks. Repair exhaust leaks as necessary.
- Check the exhaust system for contact with the body panels. Make the necessary adjustments, if needed.
