Diesel Cooling Manifold

- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- If equipped, remove the belly pan.NOTE:
Drain the fluid in a clean container, free of debris. Save the fluid for re-use.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to Standard Procedure .
- Remove the coolant return hose to engine block bolt (2).
- Loosen the band clamps and disconnect the coolant return hose from the water pump.
- Loosen the band clamps and disconnect the coolant return hose from the cooling manifold (1).
- Remove the coolant return hose (3).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Support the engine from underneath.
- Remove the coolant recovery bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, Coolant Recovery, Removal .
- Remove the right side engine mount.
- Raise the engine slightly on the right side enough to gain clearance to the cooling manifold mounting bolts (4).
- Remove the cooling manifold mounting bolts (4).
- Remove the cooling manifold (1) and gasket from the top of the vehicle.
