Theory of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the Torque Convertor Clutch for temperature during normal operation. To protect the CV Transmission from a hot temperature condition, the TCM monitors the continuation time of stall speed condition. If the monitored time is more than a predetermined value, this DTC will set causing the TCM to change the allowable engine output torque and illuminating the Over Temperature lamp.
