DAMPER, Steering: Installation: Damper
NOTE:
Some early built right hand drive vehicles may have a damper with the mounting stud on the damper instead of on the bracket. If the mounting stud is on the damper, the damper and link bracket must be replaced as a kit, and the replacement damper will be different.
NOTE:
Left hand drive shown in the illustration, right hand drive similar.
- Position the steering damper (2) to the axle bracket and link bracket (4).
- Install the steering damper bolt and nut (1) in the axle bracket and tighten to 68 N.m (50 ft. lbs.).
- Install the steering damper nut (3) on the link bracket (4) and tighten to 68 N.m (50 ft. lbs.).
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
