Installation - 4.7L

  1. Clean the area at the rear of the left cylinder head where it joins the base of the EGR valve.
  2. Clean the EGR routing tube where it joins the EGR valve.
  3. Position the new gasket between the EGR valve and the cylinder head.
  4. Position the EGR valve to the cylinder head and install the retainers and tighten to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
  5. Position a new gasket between the EGR routing tube flange and the EGR valve assembly.
  6. Position the EGR routing tube (1) to the side of the EGR valve and into the intake manifold and install the retainers (4) hand tight.

  7. Install the EGR routing tube flange retainers (1) at the intake manifold and tighten to 11 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
  8. Connect the electrical connector (5) to the EGR valve solenoid (4).

  9. Tighten the EGR routing tube retainers (4) to 11 N.m (8.5 ft. lbs.).
  10. Install the windshield wiper motor.
  11. Install the plastic windshield cowl panel.
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Using a diagnostic scan tool, erase any previously recorded DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
