3.0L Diesel

WARNING: The normal operating temperature of the exhaust system is very high. therefore, never work around or attempt to service any part of the exhaust system until it is cooled. Special care should be taken when working near the catalytic converter. The temperature of the converter rises to a high level after a short period of engine operation time.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine trim cover.
  3. Remove the pre-catalytic converter to catalytic converter clamp.
  4. Disconnect the upper O2 sensor.
  5. Disconnect the differential pressure sensor hoses.
  6. Remove the differential pressure side bracket (1).

    3 - PRE CATALYST
    4 - BOLTS
    5 - DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF)
    6 - MAIN CATALYST
    7 - BOLT
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8. If equipped, remove any skid plates.
  9. Disconnect exhaust temperature sensors (3).
  10. Disconnect downstream oxygen sensor connectors (4).
  11. Remove exhaust from the diesel particulate filter (5).
  12. Remove the transmission crossmember.
  13. Remove mounting bolts (4) and (7).
  14. Disconnect differential pressure ports.
  15. Remove the catalyst assembly from the vehicle.
