Diagnostic Test

TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Verify that the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch is off (EBL status indicator not illuminated).
3. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
4. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display: B1D37-PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
  
  Yes
  - Go to step 2
  No
  - The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
TEST FOR A SHORTED OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR

1. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch off.
2. Turn the ignition off.
3. Disconnect the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
6. Press the Rear Window Defogger (EBL) mode switch on.
7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Does the scan tool display: B1D37-PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW?
  
  Yes
  - Go to step 3
  No
  - Replace the Outside Rearview Mirror in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
CHECK THE (C16) PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit in the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
  Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to ground.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Go to step 4
CHECK THE (C16) PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Z908) GROUND CIRCUIT

1. Measure the resistance between the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (Z908) Ground circuit in the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
  Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (Z908) Ground circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Go to step 5
CHECK THE (C16) PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (P66) PASSENGER MIRROR SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT

1. Measure the resistance between the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit in the Passenger Outside Rearview Mirror connector.
  Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (P66) Passenger Mirror Sensor Ground circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Go to step 6
CHECK THE (C16) PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (C917) PASSENGER MIRROR HEATER RETURN CIRCUIT

1. Measure the resistance between the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit and the (C917) Passenger Mirror Heater Return circuit in the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
  Is the resistance below 10k ohms?
  
  Yes
  - Repair the (C16) Passenger Mirror Heater Driver circuit for a short to the (C917) Passenger Mirror Heater Return circuit.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
  No
  - Replace the Passenger Door Module in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Front Control (FCM) - Standard Procedure .
