5.7L Engine

1 - GENERATOR
2 - A/C COMPRESSOR
3 - WATER PUMP
4 - HEATER BYPASS TUBE
  1. Install water pump (3) and mounting bolts. Tighten mounting bolts to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  2. Install heater hoses.
  3. Install upper and lower radiator hoses.
  4. Install belt tensioner assembly. See Cooling/Accessory Drive/TENSIONER, Belt - Installation .
  5. Install idler pulleys.
  6. Install A/C compressor (2), alternator (1) and alternator brace. Tighten bolt and nuts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
  7. Install fan shroud assembly.
  8. Connect washer bottle wiring and hose. Refer to Electrical/Wipers/Washers/RESERVOIR, Windshield Washer - Installation .
  9. Install coolant fill bottle. See Cooling/Engine/BOTTLE, Pressurized Coolant - Installation .
  10. Install fan clutch assembly. See Cooling/Engine/DRIVE, Fan - Installation .
  11. Install serpentine belt. See Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Installation .
  12. Connect negative battery cable.
  13. Evacuate air and refill the cooling system. See Cooling/Engine/PUMP, Water - Standard Procedure 
  14. Check cooling system for leaks. See Cooling - Diagnosis and Testing
