Diagnostic Test

  1. DTC PRESENT 
    1. With the scan tool, record DTCs.
    2. Erase DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
    4. Operate the liftgate several times from the overhead switch.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display B18E5-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. LIFTGATE RELEASE SWITCH STUCK

    1. Disconnect the Overhead Liftgate Release Switch harness connector.
    2. Erase DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTC's.

      Does the scan tool display B18E5-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH STUCK?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3

      No 

  3. (G25) LIFTGATE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit.

      Is the resistance below 7, 000 ohms?

      Yes 

      No
