Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Clear all Instrument Cluster DTCs.
    3. Turn the Courtesy Lamps on.
    4. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool read: B161A-COURTESY/DOME LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE (M22) COURTESY LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the (M22) Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit and ground.

      Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  3
  3. CHECK THE (M22) COURTESY LAMPS DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Measure the voltage of the (M22) Courtesy Lamp Driver circuit.

      Is the voltage below 10.0 Volts?

      Yes 

      No
