Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on, then off, and then on again.
    2. With the scan tool, erase Radio DTCs.
    3. Turn the radio on.
    4. Turn the volume level to 25.
    5. With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display active: B145F-REAR RIGHT AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORTED TOGETHER?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE AMPLIFIED RIGHT REAR DOOR SPEAKER

    1. Disconnect the Amplified Right Rear Door Speaker.
    2. Measure the resistance of the speaker between the two terminals.

      Is the resistance of the speaker less than 1 Ohm?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  3
  3. CHECK THE (X206) AMPLIFIED RIGHT REAR DOOR SPEAKER (+) CIRCUIT, AND THE (X296) AMPLIFIED RIGHT REAR DOOR SPEAKER (-) CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Radio C2 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between the (X206) Amplified Right Rear Door Speaker (+) circuit, and the (X296) Amplified Right Rear Door Speaker (-) circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      No
