Engine & Automatic Transmission Cooling System: Engine: Pump-Water: Installation: Installation-5.7L/6.1

1. Install the water pump (3) and the mounting bolts (2, 6). Tighten the mounting bolts to 28 N.m (21 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the heater hoses.
3. Install the lower radiator hose to the water pump.
4. Install the upper radiator hose to the thermostat housing (1).
5. Install the idler pulley (5) (Refer to BELTS-ACCESSORY DRIVE ) .
6. Install the belt tensioner assembly (4) (Refer to TENSIONER-ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT ) .
7. Install the cooling fan assembly (Refer to FAN-RADIATOR ) .
8. Install the air intake assembly (Refer to AIR INTAKE SYSTEM ) .
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
10. Evacuate air and refill cooling system (Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE ) .
11. Check cooling system for leaks (Refer to LEAK TESTING ) .
