Intermediate Shaft
CAUTION:
Steering column module is centered to the vehicles steering system. Failure to keep the system and steering column module centered and locked/inhibited from rotating can result in steering column module damage. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE

- Install the shaft (1) in from the top by the master cylinder (2).
- Slide the shaft forward past the lines and then upwards.
1 - STEERING COLUMN 2 - UPPER COUPLER 3 - BRACKET 4 - STEERING GEAR 5 - LOWER COUPLER BOLT 6 - INTERMEDIATE SHAFT 7 - NUT 8 - NUT 9 - UPPER COUPLER BOLT - Install a new pinch bolt at the upper coupling (2) to the column (1).
- Install the column access cover (2).
- Install the hush panel (2).
1 - MOUNTING NUTS 2 - INTERMEDIATE SHAFT - Install the intermediate shaft (2) mounting nuts (1) to the bulkhead (The lower nut can be accessed from the inner fender well and the upper can be accessed from the top by the master cylinder).
1 - BRACKET 2 - NUT 3 - INTERMEDIATE SHAFT - Install the intermediate shaft bearing nuts (2) to the bracket (1).
- Install the intermediate shaft bearing bracket (1) to the frame.
1 - FENDER 2 - INNER FENDER WELL - Install the left inner fender well (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
1 - LOWER COUPLING 2 - SOCKET 3 - EXTENSION - Install the lower coupling (1) pinch bolt using a long extension (3) with a swivel socket (2).
