3.0L - Diesel

- Install the generator into the vehicle.
- Install the two generator upper mounting bolts (1).
- Install the B+ terminal mounting nut (2) at the top/rear of the generator and remove the cable eye (1) from the mounting stud (3).
- Snap the plastic insulator cap onto the B+ output terminal.
- Connect the field wire connector (5) at the rear of generator (4).
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the two generator lower mounting bolts (2).
- lower the vehicle.
- Install the throttle body (3).
- Install the throttle body support brace (1).
- Lower the engine.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Install the right and left engine mounting though bolts.
Tighten bolts to 110 N.m (82 lbs. ft.).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the Engine Lifting Fixture 8534B and relieve tension from the engine mounts.
- Install the rear engine cover mounting bracket.
- Install the serpentine belt (3). Refer to Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Installation .
- Install the lower air charge hose outlet from the resonator (1).
- Install the cooling fan. Refer to Cooling/Engine/DRIVE, Fan - Installation .
- Raise the vehicle.
- If equipped, install the skid plate below generator.
- Lower the vehicle
- Install air filter housing. Refer to Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Installation .
- Install coolant reservoir tank mounting bolt and position tank back into place.
- Install the engine cover (3). Refer to Engine - Installation .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
