Engine & Automatic Transmission Cooling System: Engine: Pump-Water: Removal: 5.7L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain coolant.DRAINING COOLING SYSTEM 
  3. Remove the air intake assembly MANIFOLD - INTAKE .
  4. Remove the cooling fan assembly. FAN-RADIATOR

  5. Remove the belt tensioner assembly (4) TENSIONERS-BELT .
  6. Remove the idler pulley (5) BELTS-ACCESSORY DRIVE .
  7. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing (1).
  8. Remove the lower radiator hose from the water pump.
  9. Remove the heater hoses.
  10. Remove the water pump mounting bolts (2, 6) and remove the water pump (3).
