Module-Front Control: Operation

As messages are sent over the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus circuit, the Front Control Module (FCM) reads these messages and controls power to some of the vehicles electrical systems by completing the circuit to ground (low side driver) or completing the circuit to 12 volt power (high side driver). The following functions are controlled by the FCM:

  1. Front turn signals
  2. Turn signal and tail lamps
  3. Front and rear hazard warning lamps
  4. Headlamps
  5. Fog Lamps
  6. Daytime running lamps - if equipped
  7. Horn
  8. Windshield wiper and washer systems
  9. Trailer tow wiring output
  10. Power Accessory Delay
  11. Smart Power Accessory Delay
  12. Manual adjustable pedals
  13. Hydraulic cooling fan
  14. Sensor monitoring (ambient, battery voltage, brake pedal position, and hood ajar - if equipped)
