Fuel Injector: Removal

WARNING: THE FUEL SYSTEM IS UNDER CONSTANT PRESSURE EVEN WITH ENGINE OFF. BEFORE SERVICING FUEL INJECTOR(S), FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELEASED.

To remove one or more fuel injectors, the fuel rail assembly must be removed from engine.

  1. Perform Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  2. Remove fuel injector rail. Refer to FUEL RAIL .
  3. Remove clip(s) retaining injector(s) to fuel rail (Fig 1 ).
  4. Remove injector(s) from fuel rail.
