No SKIM Bus Messages Received
Monitored & Set Condition
- When Monitored: With the ignition in the Run/Start position.
- Set Condition: The Instrument Cluster detects no SKIM bus message for 20 seconds. The Instrument Cluster will illuminate the SKIM warning indicator.
Possible Causes:
- No Response PCI Bus SKIM
- Intermittent Condition
Testing
- Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the SKIM module. Was the DRBIII(R) able to I/D or communicate with the SKIM module? If yes, the condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If no, refer to COMMUNICATION in DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION for the related symptom(s).
NOTE:
Ensure that the vehicle is equipped with the SKIM feature before proceeding with this test.
