  2. Turn ignition off. Remove sun roof delay relay from junction block. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals No. 85 and 86 on sun roof delay relay. See Figure . If resistance is 65-90 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 65-90 ohms, replace relay. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Using DVOM, measure voltage between sun roof delay relay junction block cavity terminals No. 30 and 85. See Figure . If voltage is greater than 10.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10.5 volts, go to step  16 .
  4. Connect test light between sun roof delay relay junction block cavity terminals No. 85 and 86. Turn ignition on and observe test light. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step  14 .
  5. Turn ignition off. Connect a fused jumper wire between sun roof delay relay junction block cavity terminals No. 30 and 87. Turn ignition on and operate sun roof. If sun roof does not operate, go to next step. If sun roof operates, replace sun roof delay relay. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  6. Turn ignition off. Disconnect sun roof switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof switch connector terminal No. 3 (Black wire) and ground. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between sun roof switch and ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  7. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof switch terminals No. 3 and 5. Press sun roof switch to open position. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace sun roof switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  8. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof switch terminals No. 1 and 3. Press sun roof switch to close position. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace sun roof switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  9. Lower rear of headliner and access sun roof control module. See SUN ROOF CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect sun roof control module connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof control module connector terminal "D" (Black wire) and ground. See Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black wire between sun roof control module and ground. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  10. Using DVOM, measure resistance of White wire between sun roof switch connector terminal No. 5 and sun roof control module connector terminal "B". See Fig 1 and Fig 2 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in White wire between sun roof control module and sun roof switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  11. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Violet wire between sun roof switch connector terminal No. 1 and sun roof control module connector terminal "C". If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Violet wire between sun roof control module and sun roof switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  12. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Tan wire and Dark Blue wire between sun roof delay relay junction block cavity terminal No. 87 and sun roof control module connector terminal "F". If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Tan wire and/or Dark Blue wire between sun roof control module and sun roof delay relay. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  13. Disconnect sun roof motor connector. Connect a jumper wire between ground and either sun roof motor terminal (motor side). Momentarily connect a fused jumper wire between battery voltage and opposite terminal of sun roof motor (motor side). Sun roof motor should operate. Reverse jumper wire ends at sun roof motor. Motor should operate in opposite direction. If sun roof moves in both directions, replace sun roof control module. See SUN ROOF CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If sun roof does not move in both directions, replace sun roof motor. See POWER SUN ROOFS - GRAND CHEROKEE article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  14. Turn ignition off. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from rear of junction block. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM junction block connector terminal No. 3 and sun roof delay relay cavity terminal No. 86. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  15. Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  16. Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 25 (20-amp) located in junction block. See Figure and Figure . If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, replace junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  17. Replace fuse No. 25. Turn ignition on and operate sun roof to open and closed positions. Turn ignition off and recheck fuse No. 25. If fuse No. 25 is blown, go to next step. If fuse No. 25 is okay, test is complete. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  18. Turn ignition off. Remove sun roof delay relay and fuse No. 25 from junction block. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof delay relay cavity terminal No. 30 and ground. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  19. Lower rear of headliner and access sun roof control module. See SUN ROOF CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect sun roof control module connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between sun roof control module connector terminal "F" (Dark Blue wire and Tan wire) and ground. See Fig 2 . If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan wire and/or Dark Blue wire between junction block and sun roof control module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  20. Disconnect sun roof motor connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and sun roof motor connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green wire between sun roof motor and sun roof control module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step.
  21. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and sun roof motor connector terminal No. 2 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short to ground in Black wire between sun roof motor and sun roof control module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, go to next step.
