Reading & Vanity Lights Inoperative

  1. Remove and inspect defective bulbs. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulbs are okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect junction block C1 connector. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance of Yellow/Black wire between suspect vanity light connector terminal No. 2 and junction block C1 connector terminal No. 26. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Yellow/Black wire between suspect vanity mirror and splice S347. S347 is located near harness breakout for left vanity light harness. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Turn dome light switch on. Remove fuse No. 8 (15-amp) from junction block. See Figure . Connect junction block C1 connector. Using DVOM, backprobe and measure resistance between ground and junction block C1 connector terminal No. 26 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, test is complete. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
