Driver's Door Courtesy Light Inoperative

  1. Remove and inspect driver's door courtesy light bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  2. Remove driver's door trim panel. Disconnect Driver's Door Module (DDM) C2 connector. See Fig 1 . Using DVOM, measure resistance of Pink/Dark Green wire between DDM C2 connector terminal No. 9 and driver's door courtesy light bulb socket. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Pink/Dark Green wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Black/Red wire between DDM C2 connector terminal No. 12 and driver's door courtesy light bulb socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Black/Red wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Replace DDM. See POWER WINDOWS - GRAND CHEROKEE article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
